Position The Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics-Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a hospital-based Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant. The role will act in accordance with Florida Statutes for the Nurse Practitioners Act. Duties include inpatient care and may involve teaching students and residents. This position will include overnight shifts and weekend coverage. Location: St. Joseph's Children’s Hospital, Tampa, Florida.
Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.
Graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458, 459 and Florida Administrative Code Chapter 64.
Board certified or eligible in the applicable specialty.
Responsibilities
Provide direct medical care to patients in a hospital setting, including diagnosis, treatment, and prescription of medication.
Document all orders, procedures, and progress notes in the patient’s medical record.
Teach and mentor students or residents as needed.
Participate in Quality Assurance and Improvement projects.
Perform other duties as assigned and contribute to teaching, service, and related academic activities.
