Position Overview
Lead Pipeline Solutions Account Manager role demands a resilient, pioneering sales professional who thrives on building from the ground up. This is a role for a true hunter who excels in uncertainty, faces ambiguity head‑on, and carves their own path in markets with no clear roadmap. Your mission will be to lead the market development lifecycle for Exact Sciences' screening portfolio, including the launch and growth of Cancerguard, a revolutionary blood‑based multi‑cancer detection test designed to catch cancers early when treatment is most effective. This field‑based position requires grit, persistence, and a relentless drive to build opportunities from scratch.
Essential Duties
Lead customer‑facing efforts at every stage of market development, from incubation through maturation and scaling, in emerging and evolving healthcare environments where no clear path exists.
Align Exact Sciences business goals with customer objectives, navigating complex decision‑making processes to establish new opportunities.
Partner cross‑functionally across sales, medical affairs, commercial development, and operations to develop and execute strategies that drive product adoption and revenue growth.
Identify, develop, and maintain trusted relationships with key decision makers to achieve favorable adoption of Cancerguard and other screening portfolio products.
Engage targeted accounts and key opinion leaders to gather insights that influence product strategy and positioning.
Monitor product utilization, market share, and performance metrics within assigned accounts to identify growth opportunities.
Negotiate pricing and contracts to facilitate client agreements that support business objectives.
Develop and execute account‑level business plans, delivering regular reviews that demonstrate product acceptance and highlight maximization opportunities.
Build and maintain a pipeline of new opportunities in targeted accounts with a hands‑on, hunter mentality.
Maintain comprehensive account records, ensuring accurate documentation of interactions, strategies, and outcomes.
Serve as a subject matter expert on Cancerguard, providing technical, clinical, and business insights that exceed customer expectations.
Foster a collaborative, trust‑based environment internally and externally, with exceptional communication and peer leadership skills.
Demonstrate adaptability, working independently in ambiguous situations with minimal direction while applying a growth mindset focused on continuous self‑improvement.
Travel up to 80% of the time to engage with customers across a broad geography.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, or a field related to the essential duties of the job.
6+ years of sales and/or marketing experience in the healthcare space, such as diagnostics, surgical, or pharmaceutical verticals with progressively increasing responsibilities or scope to include leadership.
Demonstrated ability to lead without authority; successfully navigate access and sell to C‑Suite, medical, quality, pharmacy, purchasing, laboratories within health systems, hospitals, employers, and/or government accounts.
Demonstrated comprehensive understanding and business knowledge of targeted customers and the evolving dynamics of healthcare and the institutional environment's impact on their decision‑making.
Demonstrated high learning agility and successful cross‑functional leadership skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Possession of a valid driver's license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, or invalid license allowed.
No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.
No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol related suspension, etc., in the last 36 months.
No other results from the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that expose Exact Sciences to an unacceptable level of liability.
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in business administration or related field.
1+ years of experience selling to health systems, hospitals, and academic institutions to include C‑Suite.
Large geography account management experience.
Experience in oncology.
Experience in leading and managing people.
Experience in business development with a proven track record of success.
Experience in contracting and negotiations and ability to manage the contracting process.
Experience in biopharma, medical device, or laboratory industry; gastroenterology, and/or molecular diagnostics.
Experience developing strategies within alternate channels including payers.
Established rapport and relationships in assigned geographic area.
Basic understanding of national accounts and hospital market; including strong knowledge of hospital and integrated system structure, decision‑making processes, and the evolving healthcare environments.
Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00. This position is bonus eligible.
