Senior Contracts Specialist , you will manage the lifecycle of consultant contracts and procurement processes to keep Seattle’s transportation projects moving. Please note that while the position falls under the Finance Division, this position is specifically a consultant contracting role, not a Buyer role. Job Responsibilities

Develop and oversee Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and manage the consultant selection process from start to finish. Write, edit, and complete consultant contracts, amendments, and work authorizations. Provide expert guidance and customer service to project managers throughout the contract process. Become a subject matter expert in SDOT’s consultant rate adjustment policy. Familiarize yourself with existing guidelines, checklists, ordinances, and department policies related to consultant contracting. Train and advise staff and consultants on federal, state, and city contracting requirements. Use data platforms and maintain contract files in systems such as the Citywide Contract Management System (CCMS), MasterWorks, PeopleSoft, Laserfiche, OpenGov, and other internal systems. Support diversity initiatives by promoting the City’s Women- and Minority-Owned Business Enterprise (WMBE) and Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs. Contribute to ongoing improvements in contract-related policies, procedures, templates, and training materials. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, finance, economics, English, or a similar field. Three (3) or more years of professional experience in financial analysis, project management, grant administration, inter‑agency agreements, contract administration, or related fields. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties. Work with public‑sector contracts and follow government rules. Handle multiple contracts and tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Use Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Adobe Sign. Explain complex ideas clearly in writing and speaking. Stay organized and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Build and maintain relationships with coworkers and customers. Work effectively with a diverse customer base in a multicultural workplace. Enjoy helping others and providing service to internal project managers and external consultants. Other Requirements

Hybrid workplace: at least three days per week in office at 800 Fifth Avenue, Seattle, with remote work allowed otherwise. Adapt to a flexible schedule and manage competing priorities. Additional Information

The City’s full salary range for this position is $50.37–$58.64 hourly. The City of Seattle offers a comprehensive benefits package including vacation, holiday, and sick leave, as well as medical, dental, vision, life, and long‑term disability insurance for employees and their dependents.
