Responsibilities Of The Business Office Manager

Accurate Financial Record Keeping: Diligently record cash receipts in the proper accounts and maintain necessary billing and financial information in resident files. You will also maintain resident trust accounts and ensure they are balanced monthly, upholding the highest standards of financial integrity.

Billing and Collections Coordination: Work efficiently and communicate effectively with corporate billers to ensure accurate and timely billing. You will coordinate all collection efforts in close collaboration with the nursing home Administrator, actively managing accounts receivable.

Resident and Family Support: Maintain accurate records of incoming payments including addresses and telephone numbers. You will also explain bills to residents as necessary, providing clear and compassionate assistance, and maintain appropriate back‑up records for all transactions.

System Management and Compliance: Maintain an effective system for recording accounts receivables. Demonstrate a strong knowledge of reimbursement systems, allowable services, and the documentation required to ensure accurate billing and compliance with all regulations.

Confidentiality and Communication: Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information related to residents and finances. You will also maintain effective communication with residents, their families, facility staff, and business office team members, fostering a transparent and supportive environment.

Medicaid Qualification Assistance: Work directly with residents to guide them through the process of qualifying for Medicaid, ensuring they receive the necessary support and resources.

Qualifications Of The Business Office Manager

Must have 2-3 years of experience in a long‑term care facility, skilled nursing facility or healthcare business office environment.
