Overview
An established and expanding law firm is seeking a
Litigation Associate
to join its growing Litigation group. The ideal candidate will have
2–5 years of litigation experience , including conducting legal research, drafting and responding to written discovery, managing document productions, preparing deposition outlines, taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings and briefs, negotiating and drafting settlement agreements, arguing motions, and assisting in mediations, trial preparation, trials, and appeals. Base pay range : $185,000.00/yr - $245,000.00/yr Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct thorough factual investigations and comprehensive legal research. Prepare persuasive internal memoranda, pleadings, and briefs. Develop and refine practice skills, with a focus on expanding knowledge of
trusts and estates law . Communicate clearly and effectively—both orally and in writing—with supervising attorneys, clients, beneficiaries, witnesses, opposing counsel, government authorities, and court staff. In matters arising under the Probate Code, advise litigants and other interested parties regarding the prosecution and defense of their rights and interests. Prepare and timely file motions, oppositions, petitions, responses, objections, and other written advocacy materials. Manage multiple matters simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Contribute to case strategy and discovery planning. Maintain regular communication with clients and supervising attorneys regarding case status and developments. Collaborate effectively with team members and seek guidance from more experienced attorneys when appropriate. Qualifications
2–5 years
of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting. Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with excellent attention to detail. Outstanding academic credentials
and demonstrated commitment to client service. Experience in
trusts and estates litigation
or
Probate Code matters
is preferred but not required. California Bar admission
