Professional Engineer - Special Inspections – Part Time

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture Minimum 3+ years of experience performing inspections in NYC (varied in size and complexity) Strong understanding of Chapter 17 of the NYC Building Code and related inspection requirements Certificates, Licenses & Training
Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in New York or New Jersey (Civil or Structural) desired – NJ at a minimum. 5+ years of direct construction inspection experience in NYC or NJ Familiarity with NYC and International Building Codes Hands‑on experience inspecting Pile Installations and Geotechnical Conditions per Chapter 17 requirements Current safety training in Fall protection, Scaffolding and ladder safety, Work‑zone safety, and OSHA 10‑hour Construction Safety Certification (minimum requirement) Additional Skills & Attributes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable interfacing with contractors, clients, and agencies Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting Proven ability to deliver accurate, detailed inspection reports in a timely manner Strong sense of accountability and professionalism Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license Willingness to pursue additional technical certifications as part of ongoing professional growth Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic field environments Familiar with construction materials, methods, and safety standards Compensation & Benefits
