Job Description Full-time days, salary.

4 10's or 5 8's.

Must be willing to travel to Northbrook and Westchester surgical centers as needed.

4-6 month orientation.

The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner is a registered nurse who influences professional role competence and professional growth of learners in a variety of settings. The NPD practitioner supports lifelong learners in an inter‑professional environment that facilitates continuous development and learning for the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing required.

Master’s degree preferred in adult education.

Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.

ANCC recognized certification in specialty area of clinical practice.

Minimum three years of clinical experience in specialty area, preferred.

Strong preference given to candidates with surgical and/or education background.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Heart Association.

CPR instructor certification within 6 months of hire.

Resuscitation requirements as appropriate to specialty area, within 6 months of hire.

Job Duties

Develops knowledge and competency in pediatric nursing and professional development practices.

Evaluates personal practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, and relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.

Implements strategies for seamless transitions to practice and between practice settings.

Assesses clinical skills of staff and provides learning opportunities to advance clinical competencies and decision making skills of staff and documents competencies.

Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.

Facilitates professional role development.

Actively works to assist in transformation processes at the unit/area level, utilizing project management and improvement processes.

Other job functions as assigned.

Education Bachelor's Degree: Nursing (Required)

(BLS) – Basic Life Support – American Heart Association

Pay Range $83,200.00–$137,280.00 Salary. At Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions. In addition to base salary, Lurie Children’s offer a comprehensive rewards package that may include differentials for some hourly employees, leadership incentives for select roles, health and retirement benefits, and wellbeing programs.
