Director of Business Development
Salary:
$115-135k base salary + uncapped commission + full comprehensive benefits
Job Summary:
We’re looking for a results-driven and strategic Director of Business Development to strengthen and expand our partner network, focusing on value-added resellers (VARs) and referral relationships. This leadership role will identify and secure new business opportunities, broaden our market presence, and drive revenue growth by aligning our solutions with the needs of target industries.
Job Responsibilities
Partnership Development & Channel Expansion:
Create and execute strategies to grow the VAR and referral partner network across multiple regions. Identify, onboard, and manage resellers, implementation partners, and technology alliances. Build lasting relationships with partners to ensure long-term engagement and shared success. Develop partner enablement programs, including training, joint marketing activities, and sales support materials. Oversee co-marketing initiatives and ensure active partners are promoted across relevant channels.
Revenue Growth & Strategic Planning:
Set and manage quarterly and annual revenue targets tied to partner performance. Lead initiatives to grow market share in key verticals such as nonprofit, healthcare, professional services, and global organizations. Oversee pipeline generation and deal progression through partner channels. Track and report key performance metrics, including lead generation, partner-driven revenue, and satisfaction scores.
Innovation & Product Collaboration:
Work with partners to identify opportunities for product improvements or integrations. Organize strategy sessions with top VARs to explore joint development opportunities. Partner with Product and Marketing teams to align offerings with partner and customer feedback.
Marketing & Events:
Collaborate with marketing teams to deliver joint campaigns, webinars, trade show participation, and co-branded materials. Coordinate partner recognition programs and events, including awards and incentives tied to performance.
Contracts & Operations:
Support the creation, negotiation, and management of partner agreements. Monitor partner terms, pricing, commissions, and payment processes. Work with Finance and Operations teams to ensure accurate partner reporting, payments, and forecasting.
Qualifications 8+ years in business development, partnerships, or sales leadership roles. Demonstrated success in growing indirect sales through VARs, system integrators, or technology partnerships. Strong knowledge of SaaS and B2B enterprise software sales models. Experience using CRM and partner management tools (Salesforce preferred). Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Experience
Background in time and expense management, ERP integrations, or professional services automation (e.g., NetSuite, Intacct, Microsoft SL).
Experience working with nonprofit organizations, government contractors, or international development sectors.
