Capital Markets Regulatory Specialist Northern Trust, a Fortune 500 company and a globally recognized, award‑winning financial institution with over 130 years of experience, is seeking a Capital Markets Regulatory Specialist to support its Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) business. The role monitors, interprets, and advises on regulatory developments across jurisdictions that impact the GFX department and serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment with evolving global regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze regulatory changes affecting the FX business across global regions, with a primary focus on the U.S., U.K., EU, and Singapore.

Interpret and apply regulatory guidance from agencies such as the CFTC, NFA, FCA, MAS, and other relevant bodies.

Contribute to the development of GFX strategy and operating models in alignment with regulatory requirements.

Lead and support complex initiatives involving cross‑functional teams and ambiguous regulatory issues.

Provide expert guidance to internal partners (Compliance, Legal, Risk, Control) and external clients on regulatory impacts.

Maintain active engagement with regulators, industry peers, and working groups to stay ahead of emerging trends.

Use advanced analytical skills to identify innovative solutions and influence operational and strategic outcomes.

Ensure work aligns with functional policies and contributes to the achievement of business objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal, or risk roles within capital markets or financial services.

Deep understanding of FX markets and related regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.

Experience engaging with regulatory bodies and industry associations.

Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and drive strategic outcomes.
