Salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Estimated annual base pay: $113,000.00 (minimum) – $147,000.00 (midpoint) – $181,000.00 (maximum)
All members included in annual cash bonus opportunity.

Overview We are seeking a leader for the role of
Engineering Manager – Design and Drafting
with a focus on
electro‑mechanical product design in the Aerospace Industry . This role oversees the resources responsible for the design of our
motors, sensors, actuation and pilot controls
product lines and is based out of our world‑class Niles, IL facility.
Responsibilities
Develop a highly effective staff including full‑time, intern, and contract workers to carry out design activity for new and existing products and technologies.
Create and improve design tools, drafting standards, and workflows within Woodward’s Product Life Cycle (PLC) process to deliver high‑quality products on time.
Promote design best practices to maximize the value of our products, including design reviews, dimensional analysis, and continuous improvement tools such as Design for Six Sigma and lean.
Manage design department budget, including estimating and tracking team workload to assign resources to achieve business objectives.
Oversee configuration management processes, including the change review board process.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required.
Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) preferred.
Management experience.
Experience with CAD systems and drafting standards.
6 to 8 years of engineering experience in aerospace or a closely related field.
This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons or eligible to obtain all required authorizations.
