Sr. Nuclear Licensing Engineer – SMR – REMOTE

Join one of the leading companies developing and building SMR’s (small modular reactors) to support their licensing efforts as they move from design to construction. This is a remote position with occasional travel.
Compensation is $135-180K. Full benefits provided and they include very reasonable rates for healthcare.
Position Summary Reporting to the Licensing Supervisor, the person hired into this role will be involved in licensing activities that support their client’s Combined License application (COLA), in order to build SMRs in multiple locations.
Requirements
B.S. degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Science is required. Advanced degree a plus.
10+ years licensing experience at commercial nuclear plants, nuclear reactor suppliers or nuclear A/E firms.
Licensing experience during plant construction or supporting COLA development or review is highly preferred.
Background involving direct interactions with regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
Support the resolution of complex issues and processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements for assigned projects.
Provide tactical direction and technical regulatory guidance to internal project resources, cross-functional work teams, and management for complex issues to resolve licensing strategy, implementation or interpretation issues.
Oversee/support licensing programs and schedules for various regulatory engagements and actions. Provide support for regulatory meetings and hearings for assigned projects.
Manage inputs to the regulatory applications and other legal processes for obtaining licenses and permits.
Oversee/support interface and interactions with industry groups (e.g., NEI, EPRI etc.) as directed by the responsible manager.
Oversee/support submittal of project licensing documents and ensures that licensing documents are complete, accurate and in compliance with the licensing strategy, commitments, and statutory requirements in all material respects.
Prepare, edit, and review regulatory submittals to regulatory agencies in support of licensing efforts. Apply authoring, reviewing editing, document planning, and organizational skills in the preparation of a large and complex nuclear license applications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
