Description Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Export Control Requirement Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key Responsibilities

This position will work 1st shift, 6:00am-4:00pm, 4 days a week, front half Sunday-Wednesday.

Review and disposition non-conformance events of the spacecraft and its ground support equipment that may occur in all phases of the Kuiper operations: procurement, storage, handling, manufacturing, assembly, testing, transportation, final integration, launch and orbital operations.

Develop standard repairs, rework procedures, propose design for manufacturing (DFM) improvements, improved processes and work instructions.

Document static, dynamic and fatigue stress analyses when needed to support dispositions, interpreting established structural analysis reports.

Develop analysis methods to address common structural non-conformances.

Work with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering experts to provide root cause failure analyses.

Interact with internal customers, external customers, and suppliers.

A Day in the Life This Liaison/MRB Engineer will be providing engineering support to resolve engineering issues that arise during manufacturing and assembly processes, quality inspection and acceptance tests, through the application of engineering and design principles, consulting the engineering development teams as needed.

About the Team The Structural Material Review Board team is part of the Kuiper Structural Integrity and Analysis teams (Structural Analysis, Loads and Dynamics, Materials and Processes and Reliability) that is ultimately responsible for Integrity of not only the spacecraft but all other commodities supporting the program, inside and outside of the Mechanical Engineering group.

Basic Qualifications

2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience.

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.

Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems.

Compensation The base pay for this position ranges from $86,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation.
