JR4547STV is currently seeking a Land Development Project Engineer for its Buildings, Facilities and Infrastructure group in Owings Mills, MD, which is currently the civil engineer of record for such high-profile projects as Harborplace and Baltimore Peninsula in Baltimore, MD. The candidate will collaborate on a wide variety of projects including conceptual master plans, schools, mixed-use, office buildings, industrial buildings, housing/apartment projects, commercial buildings, and civil/site structures.
The position will allow the individual to collaborate with our civil design team preparing documents associated with a wide variety of land development projects within the Baltimore Metropolitan area. The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and be a licensed professional engineer. Experience with MicroStation, Civil 3D or AutoCAD is strongly preferred.This role is an excellent opportunity for a mid-career engineer to:* Work on high-profile projects in education, mixed-use, commercial, industrial, and institutional development.* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on the full lifecycle of site development projects.* Gain hands-on experience in grading, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting.* Enhance design skills with mentorship and support from senior engineers and project managers.**Key Responsibilities*** Prepare construction documents, permit packages, and support construction services.* Utilize design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation; HydroCAD; Hydraflow Hydrographs and ArcGIS) to create construction drawings, layouts, and models for land development projects* Conduct site investigations and assessments to support design decisions.* Develop sustainable and innovative solutions for site layouts, stormwater management, grading, utilities, and erosion/sediment control.* Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and feasibility studies.* Coordinate with regulatory agencies to secure permits and approvals.* Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate site design with overall project goals.* Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements and progress.* Support project managers by monitoring budgets, schedules, and deliverables.* Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices to enhance project quality.**Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (required).* Professional Engineering License (required).* 4-10 years of experience in civil/site design, land development, or a related field.* Familiarity with site development principles, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion/sediment control.* Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation* ArcGIS and Hydraflow Hydrographs, HydroCAD experience preferred but not required.* Ability to lead permitting processes in Maryland jurisdictions (Baltimore City experience a plus).* Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to progress multiple projects simultaneously.* Effective written and verbal communication skills for client and team collaboration.* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.Compensation Range:$95,453.79 - $127,271.72STV offers the following benefits • Health insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable) • Disability insurance • Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment • 401(k) Plan • Retirement Counseling • Employee Assistance Program • Paid Time Off (16 days) • Paid Holidays (8 days) • Back-Up Dependent Care (up to 10 days per year) • Parental Leave (up to 80 hours) • Continuing Education Program • Professional Licensure and Society MembershipsSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
