Bargaining Unit: UUP Job Summary: The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Laboratory Technologist 3, Microbiology. The successful candidate will: Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Microbiology and Virology Laboratories. Demonstrate working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Microbiology and Virology; specific familiarization with variant equipment. Demonstrate good knowledge of quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting on Microbiology and Virology methodologies and instrumentation. Demonstrate flexibility as duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical or Biological Sciences. New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure. Preferred Qualifications: ASCP certification. Prior Microbiology work experience.
