About the Position This position is perfect for an individual with entry‑level video editing experience, an interest in writing and producing digital videos, strong time management, and a desire to learn in a fast‑paced and ever‑changing environment.
Core Responsibilities
Providing research assistance, fact checking and copy editing for video scripts
Reviewing and checking video edits for quality control
Creating and copy editing closed captioning files for all long‑form videos
Assisting Video Editors in organizing and reviewing footage for short documentary projects
Reviewing interview transcripts and identifying strong soundbites for producers
Source and verify data, reports, and academic studies to strengthen editorial narratives.
Identify important, underreported stories and provide summaries with key statistics, expert perspectives, and historical context.
Monitor and analyze news trends, policy developments, and public sentiment.
Performing administrative duties
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet expected deadlines
Maintain high standard of work in a nimble, fast paced environment
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience/Qualifications
Experience with Adobe Premiere desired;
Documentary, journalism, and/or political experience;
Producing, scripting, research or development experience a plus;
Familiarity with national politics and labor issues;
A passion for economic justice and workers rights;
Strong understanding of social media, email etiquette and exceptional interpersonal communication skills;
Studied or currently studying in journalism, communications, film, marketing, public relations or related field;
Available full‑time hours and ability to excel in a remote - work from home environment;
Ability to operate in a nimble environment.
