Job Summary The Supply Chain department manages all aspects of procurement for The Aerospace Corporation. As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Buyer – Indirect Goods and Services, you will play a key role in developing and executing sourcing strategies across a diverse range of categories including capital and indirect products and services such as IT, specialized equipment, facilities services, engineering, design, and construction. This position requires a strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and category strategy development to drive cost savings, efficiency, and value creation for the enterprise.

Selected candidates will work full‑time on site at one of our locations in El Segundo, CA; Houston, TX; Colorado Springs, CO; Chantilly, VA; or Huntsville, AL.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect goods and services categories across The Aerospace Corporation.

Develop and implement category strategies that align with organizational goals and drive supplier performance, innovation, and cost optimization.

Conduct market analysis, supplier capability assessments, and competitive benchmarking to identify sourcing opportunities.

Lead RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs; manage supplier negotiations, contract terms, and pricing to ensure best‑value outcomes.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop sourcing roadmaps.

Partner with internal teams on supplier relationship management (SRM), continuous improvement, and supplier innovation initiatives.

Implement procedures to continuously evaluate suppliers, costs, and deliverability.

Contribute to process improvement efforts and promote procurement best practices across the organization.

What You Need To Be Successful

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.

8 years of supply chain experience with 5 years of relevant procurement strategic sourcing and contracting.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional sourcing projects from strategy development through contract execution.

Technical leadership and contractual competencies to develop and execute contractual activities based on organizational needs.

Experience establishing and developing an appropriately scaled SRM framework.

Advanced project management skills to build, manage, and meet effective procurement schedules.

Advanced financial acumen and analytical skills required to construct pricing strategies, conduct bid evaluation, and justify pricing reasonableness.

Aerospace industry experience.

Experience setting up strategic purchasing agreements related to indirect categories such as office supplies, IT materials & services, marketing services, capital, HR services (recruitment, training, contract labor), travel management services, professional services (consultants), facilities maintenance/repair/operations, and design/construction sourcing methodologies.

Compensation Individual salaries within the range $107,000 – $160,500 annually are determined through a variety of factors including education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
