Help shape the future of U.S. airspace safety and efficiency. This role involves design, execution, and documentation of security testing for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for cybersecurity validation. Perform penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security control validation. Support verification and validation (V&V) of FAA system security requirements. Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure secure design and implementation. Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing on cybersecurity features. Validate compliance with NIST 800-53, RMF, FedRAMP, FISMA, and FAA cybersecurity standards. Document test results, prepare test reports, and support remediation activities. Integrate security testing into DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD workflows. Provide recommendations for improving security posture based on test findings. Prepare audit‑ready test documentation for compliance reviews. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
U.S. citizenship required. Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance. Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or Master’s degree and 6 years or associate’s degree and 10 years’ experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience. Hands‑on experience with cybersecurity testing and/or cyber defense. Proficiency in vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7, or equivalent). Familiarity with security test automation tools and frameworks. Strong knowledge of NIST RMF and NIST 800-53 security controls. Experience integrating security testing into DevSecOps pipelines. Strong understanding of public key infrastructure (PKI), encryption, and authentication protocols. Preferred Qualifications
Direct FAA or NAS configuration management experience. Professional certifications such as CEH, OSCP, CISSP, CompTIA PenTest+, or GIAC certifications. Experience supporting FAA, DOT, DHS, DoD, or other federal cybersecurity programs. Background in testing safety‑critical or mission‑critical systems. Familiarity with NextGen FAA modernization initiatives and aviation systems testing. Experience with automated test frameworks (Selenium, JUnit, PyTest) for security validation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to document and present test findings. Knowledge of FAA systems or federal aviation cybersecurity requirements is highly desirable. Compensation
Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. Salary is determined by factors such as scope of responsibilities, experience, education, skills, competencies, geographic location, and business and contract considerations.
