Area Sales Director – Modernization (Pacific Northwest)
TK Elevator is seeking an Area Sales Director – Modernization for the Pacific Northwest Area. This role leads modernization sales growth across the area, achieving profitable order intake targets through strong commercial leadership, customer engagement, and sales team development. The position drives strategic sales execution, ensures operational excellence, and builds accountability and performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Sales Leadership & Strategy: Drive modernization order intake and margin growth through disciplined sales execution and customer strategy; collaborate with Area Vice President and Commercial Leadership to set goals, forecast performance, and ensure financial targets are met; champion a customer‑first sales culture focused on high‑value, executable, and profitable modernization projects; oversee major bid strategies, contract approvals, and complex negotiations to optimize profitability and conversion.
Team Development & Talent Management: Recruit, develop, and coach modernization sales representatives; build sales bench strength and succession pipelines; support onboarding and performance management of new team members and STEP program participants.
Commercial Excellence: Ensure consistent use of TKE sales tools, processes, and reporting systems; analyze area sales data, financial results, and CRM insights to identify trends, manage pipeline health, and forecast results; partner with operational teams to ensure smooth project handoff and margin protection; promote proactive pre‑selling activities with architects, consultants, and general contractors.
Customer & Market Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, consultants, and strategic partners; lead efforts to expand modernization market share and strengthen customer loyalty; monitor market dynamics and competitive activity to inform strategy.
Culture & Compliance: Model and reinforce TKE’s values, safety culture, and ethical standards; ensure alignment with company policies and strategic objectives.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s Degree.
10+ years of directly related sales experience in the elevator industry or equivalent.
Experience working with longer sales cycles and in B2B field sales.
Proven success selling services in a competitive market.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write reports and contract proposals.
Able to analyze data, define problems, and draw conclusions to improve profitability.
Effective presentation and leadership skills.
MBA is preferred.
WHAT WE OFFER Salary ranges: $174,000 – $244,000 annually (Seattle); $164,000 – $235,000 annually (Portland). The role includes a car allowance, fuel card, and an annual incentive program 0% – 75%.
