Base pay range $153,000.00/yr – $200,000.00/yr
Whatnot is the largest live shopping platform in North America and Europe for buying, selling, and discovering items you love. We’re redefining e‑commerce by blending community, shopping, and entertainment into one experience. With hubs in the US, UK, Germany, Ireland, and Poland, we’re building the future of online marketplaces together.
Role We’re looking for a strong Product Designer to join our growing team—someone passionate about solving complex problems, designing scalable systems, and building thoughtful experiences that balance user needs with business priorities. You’ll lead the design of end‑to‑end workflows across high‑impact surfaces, whether user‑facing features, internal tools, or core platform systems.
Responsibilities
Design intuitive, end‑to‑end product experiences across user‑facing and internal tools.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate complex problems and workflows into intuitive product experiences.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and final visuals that bring clarity to ambiguous problems.
Contribute to the broader design system while advocating for accessibility and inclusive user experiences.
Use data, research, and feedback to iterate on existing features and identify areas for improvement.
Help foster a strong design culture by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and improving team processes.
Team members in this role must be within commuting distance of our New York, NY, San Francisco, CA, Seattle, WA, or Los Angeles, CA hubs.
You
4+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your work.
Experience designing digital products, ideally including e‑commerce or marketplace products.
Strong interaction and systems thinking—able to untangle complex flows and design for edge cases.
Expertise in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Protopie, Framer).
Deep understanding of user experience design principles and methodologies, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Benefits
Generous holiday and time‑off policy
Health insurance options (medical, dental, vision)
Work‑from‑home support and home office setup allowance
Monthly phone and internet allowance
Care benefits and wellness allowance
Annual childcare allowance
Lifetime benefit for family planning (adoption or fertility expenses)
401(k) retirement plans with employer match up to 4% of base salary; pension plans internationally
Dog‑fooding allowance for app usage; dog‑fooding budget fun and easy
Paid parental leave: 16 weeks paid plus 1 month gradual return to work; company leave allowances run concurrently with country leave requirements
