The Community Member Relations Director expands the Y’s reach by developing partnerships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations that invest in their employees’ well‑being through Workplace Wellness memberships and programs. This role blends hospitality and sales by creating a welcoming first impression for potential partners while strategically growing membership through meaningful community relationships. This position requires an individual who enjoys connecting with others, is motivated by achieving goals, and is committed to advancing the Y’s mission of strengthening communities through healthy living and belonging.

Essential Functions

Build and maintain relationships with businesses, municipalities, and community organizations to grow participation in Workplace Wellness.

Conduct outreach presentations and engagement visits to share Y membership and wellness benefits.

Develop and manage a pipeline of leads through CRM tracking, follow‑up, and conversion strategies.

Coordinate with marketing teams to create promotional materials and campaigns tailored for partner organizations.

Provide exceptional hospitality to ensure all external partners and their employees feel valued and supported.

Collaborate with branch teams to ensure smooth onboarding and engagement of new Workplace Wellness members.

Track and analyze partnership growth, membership conversions, and retention trends.

Represent Crossroads YMCA at community events, fairs, and networking opportunities.

Support membership experience initiatives that align with the Y’s 4 Be’s Service Standards – Be Prepared, Be Welcoming, Be Engaged, Be Memorable.

Train hospitality and upselling techniques.

Plan membership engagement events such as corporate challenges, workplace wellness days, and member appreciation weeks.

Evaluate and assess member interactions to improve service delivery.

Engage with the community and team members to support the Annual Campaign efforts.

Complete all required compliance and professional development training annually or as assigned.

Demonstrate flexibility by performing a variety of tasks and additional responsibilities as needed to support evolving association needs.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.

2+ years of experience in relationship management, outside sales, or community engagement required.

Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.

High level of professionalism, initiative, and organization.

Ability to manage multiple projects, meet goals, and track progress.

Must have reliable transportation and flexibility to travel across YMCA branches and community sites.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively.

Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs (event materials, display items, etc.).

Standard office and YMCA facility environments.

Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
