The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive ML Engineer with a strong machine learning background to build customization capabilities such as fine tuning, distillation, model evaluation, prompt optimization, etc.
As a ML engineer with the AGI team, you will lead the development of novel LLM training techniques and optimizations to advance the state of LLMs. You will collaborate closely with Applied Scientists and leverage Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate development of multimodal Large Language Models and Generative Artificial Intelligence solutions.
Key job responsibilities
Investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility with other team engineers.
Work closely with Applied scientists to process data, scale machine learning models while optimizing.
Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Compensation for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
