Camp Avoda is seeking an Assistant Director of Recruitment and Engagement to help grow and strengthen its vibrant community. This role sits at the heart of Avoda’s mission, giving Jewish boys a chance to thrive in a place where they feel a deep sense of belonging, identity, and growth. The Assistant Director of Recruitment and Engagement will be at the forefront of welcoming families, driving enrollment, expanding the recruitment pipeline, and deepening alumni and parent connections, ensuring that every camper feels excited, supported, and at home. This is a full-time position with intermittent and flexible hours during the off-season, and on-site at camp during the summer. Candidates must be based in the Northeast/New England area during the off-season.

Partner with the Executive Director and Director to own all aspects of camper recruitment, and serve as a trusted liaison for parents before, during, and after camp
Develop and execute strategies to attract new families; represent Avoda at Jewish community events, camp fairs, and synagogue programs
Host tours, lead info sessions, and build strong personal relationships with prospective and current families; strengthen and enhance onboarding experience for new families
Collaborate with the marketing team to support storytelling and messaging that highlights Avoda’s Jewish identity and life‑changing impact; help drive communications across email, web, and social channels
Proactively monitor camper happiness and support retention efforts while ensuring first‑time families feel embraced and informed
Activate alumni networks and build alumni engagement programs with emphasis on legacy and l’dor v’dor enrollment
Live on-site over summer as a key member of the camp’s leadership team; assist with Camper Care initiatives and help oversee camper experience, staff support, and daily operations
Qualifications & Skills
Warm, personable, and relationship‑driven connector with a passion for camp and the Jewish community
Strategic, self‑starter, and results‑oriented; able to take initiative and own goals from start to finish
Skilled storyteller and communicator who excites families and alumni about the Avoda experience
Demonstrated track record in recruitment, admissions, sales, and/or customer service with a strong understanding of the prospect journey and touchpoints throughout
Able to connect meaningfully with children and parents while cultivating a nurturing, positive, safe and supportive environment
Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneouslyFlexible and adaptable, willing to travel occasionally (up to 20%) for recruitment, take on small and large tasks, and support summer operations on‑site in Middleboro, MA
