The Guthridge Lab is seeking a Research Technician to join the Biorepository team, which plays a vital role in supporting our clinical and translational research investigators. This position provides the opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge research by ensuring the proper handling, management, and quality assurance of human blood and tissue samples.
Responsibilities
Receive, log, and verify human blood and tissue samples in accordance with established protocols.
Process and prepare samples for storage, analysis, or distribution to investigators.
Maintain accurate records and databases to ensure traceability of all biospecimens.
Store and retrieve samples using proper biorepository procedures and equipment.
Perform routine quality control and equipment maintenance to support CAP compliance.
Assist with inventory management and sample tracking systems.
Follow all safety, ethical, and regulatory guidelines for handling human specimens.
Collaborate with research staff and investigators to support ongoing studies and clinical trials.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in biological, chemical, or biochemical sciences, or equivalent professional experience in a relevant laboratory setting.
Proficiency with laboratory techniques and computer/database systems.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain meticulous records.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work both independently and as part of a team.
Professionalism, strong work ethic, and a collaborative, personable attitude.
Genuine interest in contributing to patient‑oriented clinical research.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a clinical research, biorepository, or CAP‑certified laboratory setting.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Prior exposure to biospecimen handling or clinical trial support activities.
Work Hours Typically, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional shifts from 1:00 PM–9:00 PM (with advance notice).
