HS Assistant Girls Track & Field Coach - Wyandotte
Location: Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools. Apply to join the assistant coach position in the athletics program.
Job Goal:
Directly responsible to the head coach. The assistant coach will exhibit total loyalty to the program, carry out all assignments, and support the head coach and other assistants.
Essential Functions
Assist the head coach as directed.
Organize and direct coaching staff.
Collect physical examination and insurance release forms.
Report injuries to the school nurse.
Take inventory of equipment, submit lists of needs, check out equipment, and keep accurate records of lost or stolen items.
Provide a roster of players.
List athletes to receive awards and plan awards ceremony.
Ensure proper team conduct on trips and during contests.
Know all rules pertaining to the sport.
Treat injuries or attend to athletes.
Clean and maintain equipment and uniforms.
Organize practice sessions.
Qualifications
Certified teacher or must qualify for Rule 10 approval through Kansas State High School Activities Association.
Proven experience as a track & field assistant or comparable role.
Strong communication, organization, reasoning, and language skills.
Physical Demands Employee must sit, walk, stand, and talk. Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. May need to visit a child's home. Vision requirements include close, distance, and depth perception.
Work Environment Environment often loud. Employee directly responsible for students’ safety, work output, and well‑being.
Terms of Employment Salary based on Kansas City Kansas Supplemental Salary Schedule. Reports to Board of Education. Performance evaluated per Board of Education policy.
