Job Description Cetera Holdings is seeking a Tax Support Associate in the Tax Practice to be a detail-oriented and service-minded professional ready to jump into the heart of tax operations. In this role, you’ll support CPAs and senior team members by organizing documents, assisting with return processing, and helping ensure clients have a smooth and professional experience. You’ll also serve as a welcoming first point of contact for clients and visitors, managing front‑desk responsibilities that contribute to a professional and organized office environment. This is a hybrid role that will report to the Saline, MI Office location 1‑2 days a week.
Core Responsibilities
Support CPAs and tax professionals by assisting with administrative tasks that keep engagements organized and on track
Interact with clients professionally, helping collect documents, answer basic questions, and ensure a smooth service experience
Greet clients and visitors warmly, manage check‑ins, and notify team members of arrivals
Scan, organize, and process tax documents and returns, following established procedures and maintaining confidentiality
Assist with delivery of completed returns, including preparing e‑filing packets and coordinating secure transmission of final documents
Use discretion within defined guidelines to prioritize tasks and maintain workflow efficiency
Maintain internal systems and records, ensuring client files, checklists, and tracking tools are accurate and up to date
Contribute to team operations, offering feedback and ideas that support process improvements and client service
Collaborate with tax and wealth teams, helping ensure administrative processes align with broader client goals
Demonstrate professionalism and reliability, contributing to a positive team culture and supporting senior team members as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment in daily tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tax workflow systems
High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
Minimum Required Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
0–2 years of experience in administrative support, client service, or tax operations
Experience in a professional office or client‑facing role preferred
Travel Requirements:
Up to 5%
Compensation This is a non‑exempt hourly role that ranges from $18.75 – $23.55 / hr., plus a competitive performance‑based compensation package. Compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. Compensation ranges may differ in differing locations due to cost of labor considerations.
