Location: Seymour Johnson AFB, NC
Responsibilities
Coordinate with senior squadron leadership on a daily and weekly basis to build long- and short-range schedules ensuring full coverage of pilots, aircrew, instructors, evaluators, support personnel, and supervisor positions.
Work with squadron operations officer (DO), weapons officer, scheduling officer, training officer, aviation resource management personnel, and unit mobility to build long-range schedules that meet mission qualifications, upgrades, continuation training, exercises, and test requirements.
Populate and publish unit schedules via PEX, GTIMS, or future Government-mandated equivalent systems, including ground, academic, flying/terminal control, and simulator training event schedules.
Track operations personnel availability (leave, temporary duty, scheduled medical appointments, etc.), de-conflict schedules, and ensure availability to meet assigned tasks.
Perform daily updates of scheduling data to reflect schedule/training changes and/or completion.
Facilitate last-minute schedule changes to ensure mission coverage, coordinating with operations supervisors.
Obtain aircraft/equipment availability data from maintenance.
Assist in determining ground, flight/terminal control, and simulator schedule requirements based on syllabus, progression, aircraft availability, airspace/range, and weather.
Track live, simulated, and academic training requirements to facilitate accurate scheduling as directed by the DO, mitigating Operational Risk Management (ORM).
Coordinate with Operations Support Squadron (OSS) and outside agencies for exercise and special event scheduling requirements.
Attend airspace/range scheduling meetings for coordination and de-confliction.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience working in a squadron, group, or wing scheduling program (CAF FS/USAFWC/ASOS).
Alternatively, minimum 5 years experience working in a DoD flying squadron, group, or wing training program.
Minimum 2 years experience using PEX (FS) or TACTICS (ASOS) or similar scheduling program.
Minimum 2 years experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
