Job Description
Position Title: Automotive Parts Shipping and Receiving Clerk Department: Parts Reports To: Parts Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary
The Automotive Parts Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for handling all incoming and outgoing parts shipments, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining an organized parts storage area. This position plays a key role in supporting the dealership's service and sales operations by efficiently managing parts logistics and maintaining excellent communication with suppliers and internal departments. All duties are performed in accordance with ADA essential functions and Ted Britt Automotive Group standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming parts shipments for accuracy and quality. Match packing slips with purchase orders and report any discrepancies or damages to the Parts Manager. Tag, label, and shelve parts in designated inventory areas. Prepare and package outgoing parts shipments for delivery or return, ensuring proper documentation. Maintain accurate records of parts receipts, transfers, and returns in the dealership management system. Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by performing regular bin checks and stock counts. Ensure all shipping and receiving activities comply with safety standards and dealership procedures. Coordinate with service and sales departments to ensure timely delivery of required parts. Assist with loading and unloading parts deliveries as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized parts department and shipping area. Perform all duties in accordance with ADA essential functions and dealership safety policies. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in shipping and receiving or automotive parts preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification preferred). Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with dealership management systems. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Professional appearance and positive attitude. ADA Essential Duties Ability to stand, walk, and move between work areas for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds frequently. Ability to bend, reach, and climb to access parts storage areas. Ability to communicate clearly in person and electronically. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
