Overview Tanque Verde High School is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Campus Monitor to support school operations, events, and campus safety. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing event spaces, setting up equipment, monitoring campus activity, and maintaining a positive and secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patrol campus during school hours to deter vandalism, theft, and unauthorized activity.
Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and outdoor areas.
Monitor school activities and special events to ensure safety.
Respond to emergencies such as alarms, fights, or medical incidents.
Confiscate contraband and report serious incidents following district procedures.
Report potential crimes or community-related incidents to administrators or law enforcement.
Identify and report unauthorized persons on campus.
Assist in emergencies, including administering first aid and notifying appropriate personnel.
Document and photograph graffiti, vandalism, and incidents; assist with clean‑up.
Monitor parking areas for student activity and vehicle compliance.
Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality while dealing with students, staff, and the public.
Interact professionally with outside agencies such as law enforcement and community partners.
Event & Facility Support
Prepare rooms and event spaces for meetings, assemblies, and school activities.
Set up and arrange tables, chairs, and furnishings.
Prepare and operate audio/visual equipment for presentations and events.
Break down and store equipment after each event.
Set up and take down gymnasiums, courts, and athletic fields.
Prepare and maintain officials' meeting rooms for athletic events.
Provide assistance to staff, students, and visitors during events and daily operations.
Report facility or equipment issues promptly to administration or maintenance staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Effective communication with diverse backgrounds.
Strong documentation and report‑writing skills.
Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Knowledge of CPR, first aid, and bloodborne pathogen safety.
Understanding of district policies regarding student discipline and safety.
Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment operation.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods in varying weather.
Skills in conflict resolution and de‑escalation.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work evenings or weekends for events.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
One year of relevant experience (e.g., school security, facilities support, or event setup) preferred.
Equivalent combination of experience and/or training approved by the District.
Work Environment
Indoor and outdoor campus settings.
Physically active role requiring frequent movement, lifting, setup, and extended periods of standing or walking.
Exposure to varying climate conditions and large group settings.
Pay:
$14.70 per hour. Overtime eligibility may vary based on specific tasks assigned.
