Overview
Guidepost Montessori is hiring a Lead Preschool Teacher (Children's House Guide) for our Montessori school in San Rafael. The role supports a mixed-age class of preschool children in a Montessori environment.
Your Role We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated Lead Guide to support children ages 3-6 by preparing an environment that fosters independence and provides individualized support. Guides work with children individually and in small groups, demonstrate how to use materials, and give precise language to help children understand their experiences.
Responsibilities
Observe each child closely to understand and meet their physical, intellectual, and emotional needs.
Prepare a beautiful, orderly environment that fosters concentration, independence, and deep learning.
Cultivate independence and self-confidence by helping children 'do it all by themselves'.
Provide individual and small-group lessons to support each child's development in practical skills, literacy, math, and more.
Form personal connections with each child and cultivate a community of respect.
Communicate and collaborate respectfully with parents to support every child's development.

Ideal Candidate
Obtained or willing to obtain a Montessori diploma for 3-6.
Experience working with children ages 3-6 in a group setting such as daycare, aftercare, or preschool.
Familiarity with child-led philosophies such as Reggio Emilia or Montessori, or openness to learning more.
12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development credits.
Earned Bachelor's Degree in ECE or Child Development.
