About This Role The ComTran Group is looking for a Fiber Optic Splicing Technician. This role consists of all aspects of Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic cable splicing.

Responsibilities

Fiber optic fusion splicing (build and place splice enclosures, inside wall mount splice enclosures)

Fiber optic mechanical splicing (Unicams or equivalent mechanical connectors)

Fiber optic testing (continuity, insertion loss, OTDR and fiber characterization)

Fiber optic troubleshooting for repair

Bucket truck operation

Lowering and raising aerial splice enclosures

Qualifications

Proper footwear: Boots with a minimum 1" heel

Clean driving record

Excellent communication skills

Attention to detail

Willingness to be a team player
