Desktop Support – Nashville, TN
Location: Nashville, TN, US
Schedule: Full‑time, Day Job (7AM‑5PM, Monday‑Friday; occasional after‑hours support).
Role Overview: SAIC is seeking a Desktop Support technician to support the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Revolutionary IT Services (RITS) program, providing second‑tier support for PC, server, mainframe applications, and hardware.
Responsibilities
Resolve technical problems and respond to queries via telephone or self‑service tickets for computer hardware, software, network, and system/application access.
Diagnose, isolate, and analyze issues using historical database records.
May route calls to product line specialists, application, or system support specialists.
Maintain and update records and tracking databases.
Alert management to recurring problems and patterns.
Provide technical, operational, and training support to users of PCs via telephone or on‑site.
Install, test, and configure personal computers, printers, and peripheral devices.
Configure operating systems, load shrink‑wrap programs and other application software.
Troubleshoot printer, computer, and peripheral incidents.
Perform hardware and software diagnostics, coordinate repairs, resolve computer system problems, and coordinate with LAN components; participate in system configuration evaluation.
Simulate or recreate user problems to diagnose operating difficulties and recommend system modifications.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree and ≥3 years of related experience, or 2 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience supporting Windows 10 and MS Office 2013.
Experience with ServiceNow or a similar ticketing system.
Experience in a Tier II helpdesk environment.
Valid driver’s license.
Must be available for normal business hours (8‑hour shift, 7AM‑5PM). After‑hours support may be required infrequently.
Required Certifications
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+).
Must obtain DoD 8570 IA Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of employment.
Required Clearance
Must obtain a full Secret clearance; Interim Secret required prior to hire; SAIC will assist in obtaining clearance.
Must be a current U.S. citizen.
