A client of Sharp Decisions is looking for a UDB DB2 Database Administrator. This role is
ONSITE
in Marysville, OH – a multi‑year contract with no end date, W2 only.
Daily Tasks Performed
Database Design and Implementation: Design, develop, and implement database solutions in collaboration with development teams. Create database schemas, tables, and indexes to support efficient data storage and retrieval.
Database Administration: Manage, monitor, and optimize database instances to ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity. Configure and maintain database backups, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
Performance Tuning and Optimization: Identify and resolve database performance issues, including query optimization, index tuning, and resource utilization. Monitor database performance metrics and implement improvements to optimize performance.
Position Success Criteria (Desired)
10+ years experience as a DB2 LUW DBA in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of DB2 LUW architecture, utilities, and tools. Experience with HADR, TSA, QREP and other high availability solutions.
5+ years experience with Cloud Concepts, AWS and other Cloud Technologies, IaaS and PaaS, Cloud Database Platforms (RDS PostgreSQL, AWS DynamoDB, DocumentDB, MongoDB, Neo4j, Neptune, etc.).
