Position Overview We are seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach an asynchronous online course on the fundamental science of how the climate system works. The instructor will examine observed and projected impacts of climate change through high‑resolution observational data and climate/Earth system model predictions and projections. Students will engage with the material through virtual class discussions and a diverse set of assignments.
Responsibilities
Teach the physics and chemistry of the atmosphere, focused on the greenhouse effect.
Teach the carbon cycle and its relationship to the energy system.
Teach predictions and projections of climate change.
Design and facilitate class discussions and develop diverse assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
An advanced degree in a relevant field, with a PhD.
At least three years of professional work experience in climate modeling or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
A terminal degree in a relevant field.
1‑3 years of graduate‑level teaching experience.
Five years of professional work experience in climate modeling.
