The Phlebotomist is an integral member of the medical laboratory team whose primary function is the collection of blood samples from patients. Phlebotomists also facilitate the collection and transportation of other laboratory specimens (e.g., urine). Because the phlebotomist is often the only contact a patient has with the medical laboratory, skill and composure are essential to ensure a positive experience.
