Pacific Coast Producers, a leading food production company, is seeking a Back‑Up Wastewater Operator to join the team at its production facility in The Dalles, OR.

Summary

The position is entry level and covers the responsibilities of a Wastewater Operator during planned absences, with possibility to work as a General Laborer at $16.85/hour when the primary operator is covered.

Primary Duties For Wastewater

  • Perform routine tasks related to facilities and grounds upkeep and maintenance.
  • Operate wastewater solids dewatering system under management direction.
  • Dose chemicals under management direction.
  • Operate a forklift or pallet jack as needed to move solids bins, chemicals and equipment.
  • Maintain day‑tank chemical supply, monitor, and adjust operation of nutrient and pH control dosing systems under management direction.
  • Clean waste building and operate all pertinent equipment.
  • Operate and monitor plant support systems, including sludge pumps, oilers, aeration equipment, belt filter press, sampling and metering equipment, and all associated valves, pumps, motors, and control circuitry.
  • Document findings, efforts and activities in paper log and/or digital log format.
  • Notify management of critical issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and hazard‑free work area.
  • Adhere to and comply with all state, federal and local regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to safe work practices and all operation and maintenance duties.
  • Work with knowledge of hazards and precautions associated with the operations of a wastewater treatment plant.
  • Know and be able to review, understand, and adhere to laws, ordinances and regulations governing wastewater NPDES Permit.
