Position: Accounting Manager

We are currently seeking candidates for an Accounting Manager position located in Mt. Vernon, NY 10550. The role is with a leading manufacturer and distributor and is seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager to join its growing finance team. This is an ideal opportunity for a 3–5‑year public accounting professional who’s ready to transition into an industry role with strong mentorship, exposure to operations, and clear growth potential. The position offers broad responsibility across the close process, financial reporting, and internal controls in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

This is a full-time permanent position that will pay $130K–$150K base salary.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Support audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors
• Oversee general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, and inventory accounting
• Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls
• Ensure compliance with tax filings and financial regulations
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations and senior management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• CPA strongly preferred
• 3–5+ years of experience in public accounting
• Relevant experience with inventory accounting/audit
• Strong understanding of GAAP and audit procedures
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus)
• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
• Integrity, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
