This position is full‑time with a hybrid work schedule based in Natick, MA; staff work in the office three days per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Overview:
The Vice President is a member of the senior management team and is responsible for all functions of financial management and reporting, fund management and administrative support functions, including aspects of human resources and IT/database administration. They also serve as a financial advisor to the Executive Director and leadership team and provide management support to the Investment, Audit, and Finance committees.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
Oversee all aspects of fiscal management, responsible for accounting and financial systems, providing timely financial reports, analysis, and budgets to the Executive Director and Board of Trustees.
Create the Foundation’s annual budget and obtain approval from the Board and Finance Committee.
Prepare accurate analyses, summaries, and reports of financial data on the Foundation’s operating progress, investments, and trends.
Monitor revenue and expense cycle metrics to identify and address issues affecting performance.
Manage compliance with local, federal, and national regulatory matters, standards, and internal policies.
Coordinate and guide the Audit and Finance Committee, including staff support, meeting attendance, material circulation, and policy drafting.
Review internal systems and controls to safeguard assets.
Partner with senior leaders to meet asset growth, revenue, and expense targets.
Ensure accounts payable and receivable are managed accurately.
Manage all bank and investment accounts, conduct rebalancing duties.
Lead financial modeling and strategic planning related to finance and investments.
Collaborate with the accounting team and independent auditors to prepare annual audit and financial reporting in compliance with FASB and GAAP.
Investments
Supervise, monitor, and report on investment activity and performance; ensure adherence to investment policies.
Provide support to the Investment Committee in developing investment policy and asset allocation, and coordinate investment management activities.
Compare actual asset allocations against strategic targets and review portfolio and account rebalancing as needed.
Prepare and deliver timely investment performance reports to the Investment Committee and Trustees.
Ensure compliance with the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act.
Serve as the primary contact for the investment advisor, bank trustees, and portfolio managers.
General Administration
Oversee contracts, leases, legal issues, and non‑group insurance.
Negotiate and procure adequate property and liability insurance.
Recommend policies to minimize risk.
Review contracts with consultants and service providers.
Maintain administrative and regulatory compliance.
Payroll & Human Resources Administration
Ensure payroll is processed regularly and in compliance with all laws and regulations.
Maintain up‑to‑date personnel files with required information and safeguard personal data.
Manage benefits administration, including onboarding and off‑boarding.
Accurately establish, code, and adjust funds; calculate and post administrative fees.
Communicate quarterly fund statements and annual spending policy amounts.
Respond to audit confirmation requests for agency funds and track community investment tax credits.
Review annuity distributions and update funds.
Supply information needed for annual reports.
Other
Serve on the senior management team.
Partner with the Director of Operations to review data security and support IT systems.
Lead and mentor employees.
Represent the Foundation’s mission and values in the community.
Perform other duties as assigned and meet with donors and stakeholders as needed.
Salary and Benefits The salary range is $140,000 to $150,000 plus benefits. The benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance; a retirement savings plan with employer contributions after one year; generous paid time off and holidays.
