Summary
The Department of Pediatrics is currently seeking an Assistant Professor for the Pedi Hem/Onc Clinical Division on the West Campus.
Scope of practice:
Manages outpatient and inpatient care for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology patients in a community hospital setting
Provides inpatient coverage as part of a rotation with the hospital's physicians, including daily rounds, work of the day, nighttime acute needs, and evening phone calls from hospital staff
Handles parent phone calls via page operator during evenings, weekends, and holidays
Performs procedures such as bone marrow harvests and lumbar punctures as indicated
Ensures availability of subspecialty backup and consultation via physicians at Texas Children’s Hospital Main Campus
Minimum requirements:
MD or equivalent degree
Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
Prior to employment start date, must obtain a Texas Medical License and DEA registration
