This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.
The Role Responsible for the execution/develop of manufacturing controls. Work will be performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
New program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)
Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement
Maintaining awareness of new controls technologies (PLC, HMI, networks, robot, vision) of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts
Managing deliveries to program timing milestones
Providing project report outs to senior management
Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.)
Providing technical direction to less experienced controls engineers.
Designing and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems
Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience or training
Controls experience in manufacturing environment (Controls Engineer)
PLC experience with ladder logic, and hardware design (Controls Engineer)
Preferred Skills
3+ years experience in manufacturing environment
2+ years of PLC work experience (Controls Engineer)
Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley
Mechatronics degree or training a benefit
