As a Data Center Construction Manager, you will be part of a creative, diverse team tasked with solving fascinating problems constructing Amazon Data Centers. Our data centers are energy efficient and cost-effective, built to support our Customers in collaboration with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning teams. You will build some of the most interesting electrical and mechanical systems in the world and will be on the construction site daily, interacting with construction trades as Amazon’s owner’s representative. You will be directly responsible for driving cost, schedule, and quality while managing construction vendors and contractors building data centers. Key Responsibilities

Own construction project management and oversight of activities related to new builds or general capital projects, including scope, quality, schedule, and budget. Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list phases. Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy. Create construction project scope and request for proposals. Perform financial analysis of construction efforts. Manage construction projects for initiatives aimed at increasing data center resiliency. Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimizing data centers. Manage construction documents, including submittal reviews, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing. Ensure construction project quality control and report key construction metrics to team members and management. Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis for equipment failures. Be a leader within the group and across internal and external teams supporting the data center. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience (RFPs, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking) for construction and project execution 4+ years of experience constructing electrical systems including large-scale power distribution/generation gear and mechanical systems including cooling systems Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA Understanding of electrical engineering principles (switchgear, UPS, transformers, circuit breakers) and mechanical engineering principles for cooling systems Experience in design or construction of data centers or critical infrastructure, or large-scale mechanical and electrical plants Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to use data to justify conclusions; experience with value engineering to reduce costs without compromising quality Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings; define data center system-level architecture and maintain project documentation Experience in controls and commissioning of large-scale projects; experience with power management and power monitoring systems Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay range for this position is $98,700/year to $210,800/year, depending on location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
