We are currently seeking a Mainframe Production Assurance Sr. Specialist to join our team in Mckinney, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).
The Mainframe Production Assurance Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, and ensuring the stability of critical mainframe production systems. This role involves proactive oversight of daily batch cycles, incident resolution, access management coordination, and seamless execution of production processes to meet business SLAs.
Job Responsibilities
Monitor and validate completion of daily, weekly, and monthly batch cycles across multiple business units.
Ensure timely execution of production jobs, identifying and resolving errors or delays.
Perform mainframe transaction and report validations.
Coordinate with infrastructure teams, Application Run and Build teams, external vendors, and business team.
Validate and transfer data from and to external vendors.
Troubleshoot job failures, elevate issues to application technical teams, and track to resolution.
Maintain runbooks, job schedules, and operational documentation to support transitions.
Participate in change management activities – deploy, validate changes, support cutover, and monitor post-implementation.
Provide production assurance reporting (daily status, exceptions, SLAs).
Support disaster recovery testing and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application, operations, business) to ensure high system availability and reliability.
Basic Qualifications
6+ years of experience in mainframe operations
6+ years of experience in production support/assurance roles
5+ years of experience with JCL tools
5+ years of experience in production support utilizing JCL, COBOL, CICS, Easytrieve, VSAM, or related mainframe applications.
Preferred Skills
Hands‑on experience with JCL, batch scheduling tools (e.g., PCS, CA7), and mainframe utilities.
Hands‑on experience with data file management (Sequential, GDG, VSAM, and PDS).
Strong understanding of incidents, problems, and change management processes (ITIL preferred).
Familiarity with transaction validation and report printing processes.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
Excellent communication and coordination skills; ability to work across teams.
Ability to work in 24x7 production support environments with on‑call rotation.
Experience with financial services or insurance domain batch processing.
Experience with performance monitoring and tuning in production environments.
Experience in incident and SLA management.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
