Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program. General Dentist Provide comprehensive care to a panel of patients as well as supervise residents within our General Practice Residency Program. The candidate must be proficient in all areas of general dentistry and enjoy working in teaching and group-practice environments. In this role, the successful candidate will render excellent clinical care in the outpatient FHC clinic and inpatient setting at NYU- Brooklyn Hospital. You will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of dentist specialists, hygiene professionals and clinical support staff.

Job Responsibilities

Provide dental care services to all patients assigned.

Meet standards of care and predefined productivity expectations.

Arrive for office sessions on time and remain throughout each session.

Engage in teamwork with the support staff and colleagues.

Demonstrate excellent diagnostic and treatment planning skills.

Participate in quality initiatives.

When assigned, treat patients/provide patient services to FHC patients in the operating room setting. Coordinate care in conjunction with the patient’s primary care provider and complete all records associated with the patient’s care. Respond to all calls and inquiries associated with the patient’s care in a timely manner.

Accurately and timely complete any paperwork necessary to facilitate FHC billing and reimbursement as is reasonably expected.

Appropriately supervise and contribute to the training of residents and students in the ambulatory and inpatient setting. Complete evaluation forms in connection with such supervision and training in a timely manner.

Make daily documentation in the medical record and timely completion of medical records post-discharge.

Respond to pages and phone calls during business hours, after hours, including weekends and for hospitalized patients.

Minimum Qualifications

DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.

3 years of Direct Patient Care Experience.

Excellent proficiency with Dental Electronic Record Systems.

Required Licenses NYS Dental License, Basic Life Support Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Chinese or Spanish.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $180,000–195,000 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
