Job Summary
Geisinger Gastroenterology is seeking an Advanced Practitioner (AP) to join our team at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. The role reports clinically to the Chief AP/GI and administratively to Operations Director.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with advanced practitioners, gastroenterologists, transplant hepatologists, advanced endoscopists, fellows, nurses, pharmacists, and other team members.
Provide clinical care for patients in general GI, advanced endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology, weight loss, and endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty.
Assist in the clinical management of patients undergoing innovative endoscopic weight loss procedures.
Serve as patient advocate, confidant, advisor, and liaison among patients, families, and physicians.
Participate in education, teaching, and research activities.
Provide coverage at Geisinger Medical Center’s Shamokin platform.
Position Details
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant (required), Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant (preferred).
Experience: Preferably clinical experience in gastroenterology or related specialties.
Certification(s) and License(s): Certified Physician Assistant – National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); Basic Life Support Certification.
