Product Quality Engineer
Job Overview The Factory PQE is responsible for sustaining and new product introduction (NPI) quality at manufacturers for products throughout their entire product lifecycles. The ideal candidate manages high‑priority activities from QMS oversight to statistical quality control, issue management, and root‑cause analysis, ensuring durable root causes are understood and mitigated within manufacturing sites and with suppliers.
Responsibilities
Lead comprehensive management of production quality processes including IQC, IPQC, OBA, and OQC for Ethernet switch products.
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure NUD, PFMEA, Process Flow, and QCP processes are well managed prior to each NPI build phase.
Contribute to product quality criteria and determine if the product meets expectations from each build, emphasizing Ethernet switch‑specific technical details.
Develop, design, control, and deliver quality plans, manufacturing documentation, inspection documentation, and test metrology.
Perform and lead root‑cause analyses for complex Ethernet switch quality issues, developing CAPA and CAR actions.
Oversee quality issues on the RMA line and systemically feedback CAPA to the production line.
Facilitate CM audits focused on QMS, ESD control, and Ethernet‑specific requirements, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Review and verify non‑conforming materials to initiate and drive associated corrective actions.
Contribute to final product release activities in accordance with established procedures, production schedules and gate‑exit requirements.
Prepare documentation, post reports, drive quality metrics and communication prior to NPI builds and sustaining programs.
Track issue and task progress in JIRA, understand BOM components and layout with a PLM system (e.g., Arena, Agile).
Work closely with JDM/ODM DRIs to review potential improvements to address quality issues and risks.
Basic Qualifications
BS degree in Quality, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years working in network switch manufacturing.
Proven experience managing NPI processes and sustaining quality operations.
Experience with Ethernet switch standards (IEEE 802.3af/at/bt, IEC, UL, ISO).
Excellent computer skills (Windows/Mac, Office Suite, PLM).
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills.
Deep understanding of MSA, process quality control (Cpk, Gage R&R), statistical analysis, and 7QC tools.
Knowledge of SPC, line audit criteria, ESD, yield calculations, run‑in tests, and No Trouble Found rules.
Experience developing program‑specific quality plans.
Preferred Qualifications
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Certified Auditor (ISO 9001, TL 9000).
Advanced manufacturing expertise (SMT, PTH, FATP, assembly).
Proactive self‑starter with strong presentation and project‑management skills.
Advanced reliability engineering exposure, including reliability testing, waterfall, and failure analysis.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 35–40%.
