The coastal retreat with breathtaking views is situated along the Torrey Pines Golf Course overlooking the shores of La Jolla. The property offers almost 40,000 square feet of event space, 2 food and beverage offerings, and 394 guest rooms. The property offers free meals on shift, free parking, and uniforms. The ideal candidate should possess at least one year of customer service experience (preferably in the hotel industry). They should have a flexible schedule, be proficient with computer systems, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. What will I be doing? As a Guest Services Agent, you would be responsible for greeting and registering guests and checking guests out of the hotel in the continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would perform the following tasks to the highest standards: Greet guests and complete the registration process, including inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirmation of guest information and room rate, selection of rooms, coding electronic keys, promoting marketing programs, providing a welcome packet, and ensuring the guest knows the location of the room or has a bell person accompany them Assist guests with check-out, including ensuring rooms and services are correctly accounted, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing payments, accepting and recording various forms of payment, converting foreign currency, making change, and processing gift certificates and cards Demonstrate thorough knowledge of hotel information including room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, local area and general product knowledge; answer guest questions and inquiries Use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities and maximize room occupancy Respond to guest inquiries and requests; resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner Field guest complaints, conduct research and resolve and negotiate solutions for guest satisfaction Receive, input, retrieve and relay messages to guests What are we looking for?
