Save Job

Verustruct is developing a suite of robotic construction technologies to deliver affordable, sustainable, safe, and beautiful housing to help close the U.S. housing gap of 4.5 million homes. Using our patent-pending translational slipform technology (TSF), we take a different approach to 3D printed buildings by extruding load‑bearing walls, integrated with MEP systems, without the use of large and expensive support structures. We are looking for a Senior Robotics Engineer to help develop the robotic architecture for our set of autonomous robotic construction devices.

Senior Robotics Engineer The Senior Robotics Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of autonomous construction systems at Verustruct. You’ll work closely with the CEO and cross‑functional engineering teams to design, develop, and optimize robotic systems that bring automation, precision, and intelligence to on‑site construction.

Responsibilities Lead the design, integration, and optimization of the Translational Slip Form (TSF) robotic system, focusing on actuation, sensing, and control mechanisms that enable automated on‑site wall construction.

Architect, implement, and tune control loops (open and closed) for precision multi‑axis motion using servos, BLDC motors, and stepper‑based actuation systems.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure seamless system‑level integration of sensors, drives, and embedded controls.

Develop, test, and iterate on robotic motion systems – from benchtop prototypes to full‑scale field hardware – emphasizing reliability, repeatability, and manufacturability.

Support simulation, hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing, and safety analysis for mechatronic subsystems.

Document and communicate findings clearly to leadership, helping translate rapid prototyping insights into production‑ready designs.

Mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with the CEO to shape Verustruct’s growing robotics roadmap.

Compensation Competitive total compensation package with a sliding scale allowing flexibility between cash and equity based on personal preference and risk tolerance. Performance‑based incentives tied to funding milestones, product development, or strategic objectives. 401(k) plan with 4% matching, standard health benefits, and flexible work arrangements.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

4+ years of hands‑on experience in robotics system design, mechatronic integration, or automation – ideally in hardware‑intensive environments.

Demonstrated experience with motor control systems, including stepper, servo, and BLDC motor tuning, feedback integration, and motion profiling.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications Strong foundation in robotics systems design, including sensing, actuation, kinematics, and motion planning.

Proficiency with embedded systems and real‑time control for multi‑axis motion.

Familiarity with ROS/ROS2, microcontrollers (STM32, Arduino, ESP32), and motion control firmware.

Experience with sensor fusion, feedback loops, and PID tuning for precise motion and load handling.

Familiarity with CAD tools such as Siemens NX (preferred), SolidWorks, or Fusion 360.

Experience integrating hardware prototypes into field environments – especially in rugged or construction contexts – is a strong plus.

Excellent analytical and communication skills; ability to lead through ambiguity and iteration.

Deep curiosity and drive to build robotic systems that make real‑world impact.
