Position: Accounting Associate Department: Property Accounting Location: 1 Kimberly Road, East Brunswick, NJ 08816

Summary This position will be responsible for assisting Accountants with general accounting, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable responsibilities by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accounts Payable

Processing vendor invoices and disbursements, including assembling checks and documents for mailing.

Reconciling statements from vendors and ensuring that all payables are accurate and current.

Maintaining and updating vendor master databases.

Monitoring invoice workflow and ensuring that open invoices are downloaded and paid timely.

Processing 1099 forms for all relevant vendors, including obtaining W9’s from vendors.

Assisting with monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes for Accounts Payable.

Scanning vendor invoices and other critical accounting documents as needed.

Reviewing AP distributions to determine if any invoices are missing (i.e.: utilities, monthly contract services).

Accounts Receivable

Processing and posting cash receipts from tenants.

Processing and distributing tenant direct billings.

Processing monthly tenant rent billings.

Preparing and distributing accounts receivable aging and following up on the collection of outstanding balances.

General Accounting

Entering leases and lease amendments into accounting system.

Maintaining and preparing supporting schedules for all critical general ledger accounts.

Reviewing financial activity for unusual variances, preparing reclassifications and making necessary journal entries.

Reconciling bank accounts and loan balance accounts.

Assisting in the preparation of budgets and schedules for annual audits.

Assisting with annual true‑up calculations.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in accounting from a four‑year college or university is preferred; two to three years related experience and/or training required.

Computer Skills:

Knowledge of accounting software, Yardi or similar software preferred, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary $65,000 to $70,000 per year.

Eligible for annual bonus.

Eligible for Medical/Dental/Vision on hire.
