Job Title: Data Scientist

We seek a detail-oriented Data Scientist to help optimize manufacturing processes, improve quality, and reduce costs through data-driven decision-making. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams and leveraging analytics tools to turn factory floor data into actionable insights. You will play a critical role in identifying trends, improving operational performance, and enabling data-driven process improvements across production and assembly lines.
Job Responsibilities (3+ years of Data Analytics Experience)
Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from manufacturing systems, including production metrics, downtime, scrap rates, and quality control data.
Conduct
exploratory data analysis (EDA) and root cause analysis
to uncover the drivers behind defects, downtime, and other manufacturing challenges.
Identify process inefficiencies and bottlenecks, providing data-driven recommendations for performance improvement.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to implement changes that improve efficiency and quality.
Use
predictive modeling to forecast
production needs, predict potential equipment failures, and optimize maintenance schedules.
Develop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms , and AI-driven solutions.
Work with
Databricks, Python, R , and SQL to develop analytical models and automate reporting.
Develop dashboards and KPIs using Power BI or Tableau to monitor operational performance and provide clear insights to leadership.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including process flows, SOPs, and analytics reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s or
Master’s in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering , or a related field.
US Citizen.
4+ years of data analytics experience, preferably in manufacturing, assembly, or operations.
Proficiency in
Python, R, or SQL
for statistical analysis and automation.
Experience with
Databricks
for analytics and modelling.
Expertise with data visualization tools such as
Power BI or Tableau .
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and
attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills
to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with ERP and MES systems.
Austin based, onsite role:
Monday through Thursday in the office, Friday WFH.
