Mass General Brigham (Mass Eye & Ear) is offering a sign‑on bonus and full‑time, part‑time, and per‑diem opportunities for Surgical Technologists at our Longwood satellite campus (800 Huntington Ave, Longwood, MA). This role supports patient care, research, teaching, and community service in a not‑for‑profit setting.

Assist surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in various surgical procedures.

Ensure the smooth and safe operation of the operating room.

Responsibilities

Assist surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in various surgical procedures and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the operating room.

Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.

Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment required for the surgery.

Transport patients to the operating room, help with positioning on the surgical table, and ensure their safety and comfort during the procedure.

Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team during procedures.

Follow proper sterilization techniques to ensure the cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and supplies.

Maintain accurate and complete documentation of surgical procedures, including counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments used.

Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team.

Assist in preparing the surgical site by applying sterile drapes and solutions.

Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed by the surgeon.

Available Shifts / Locations

Longwood satellite campus (800 Huntington Ave, Longwood, MA).

Full‑time 40 hrs weekly, Monday‑Friday 7:00 am – 5:30 pm.

Per Diem and Part time also available.

No holidays.

No weekends.

No call.

Sign‑on Bonus:

$10,000 total ($5,000 after 90 days of employment and $5,000 after 12 months).

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

No experience in lieu of degree accepted.

Licenses & Credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (preferred); Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) (preferred); Dental Assistant (State License) – Generic (preferred); Medical Technician (New Hampshire License) – New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (preferred).

Experience: 0–1 year as a Surgical Technologist needed; 1–2 years preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.

Familiarity with surgical equipment and technology.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations during surgeries.

Understanding of infection control protocols and patient safety measures.

Pay Range $27.84 – $39.84 per hour
