The City of Pleasanton (pop. 79,871), located 40 miles southeast of San Francisco, is a vibrant community with an exceptional quality of life marked by a low crime rate, award-winning schools, and a diversified economic base. The Public Works Department is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the City’s infrastructure. The Utilities and Environmental Services Division, supported by 40 FTE, is responsible for planning, operating, and maintaining the City’s water facilities, sewer collection, and storm drain systems.
The City seeks a knowledgeable and experienced water industry professional with outstanding supervisory and interpersonal skills. This strategic leader will easily transition from long-range planning to effective oversight of daily operations. Seven years of progressively responsible water and/or wastewater experience and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, public or business administration, or a related field are expected.
